Is Pastor Akinosun the President OF CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH? ( High Court Judgement Included)

The above question becomes imperative and crucial for every member of Christ Apostolic Church in view of revelations which unraveled in court last Thursday, 17th November 2016 in the criminal case which came up at the Magistrate Court, Iyaganku, Ibadan on the matter of forgery of CAC Certificate of Incorporation.

Not to forget, this is a criminal case initiated by Pastor Abraham Akinosun against his mentor, Pastor E.H.L. Oluseye, where he accused Pastor Oluseye of giving him a forged Certificate of Incorporation of 1995 when the former demanded for the Certificate after he became president of the GEC faction of the Church.

Pastor Akinosun, Pastor Mapur (General Secretary, CAC GEC faction) and Pastor Adeleke (Chairman of a DCC and former PA of Pastor Oluseye) gave evidence for the prosecution against Pastor Oluseye. However, under cross examination, in answer to a question by the lawyer to the defence, Pastor Akinosun introduced himself as the “President, Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide.”

First issue: The defence lawyer showed Pastor Akinosun the Church’s Certificate, which reads – “Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria.” So where did the “Worldwide” come from? Pastor Akinosun could not give a satisfactory answer.

Second Issue: The defence lawyer asked Pastor Akinosun and his lieutenants to compare both the Certificate of Incorporation of 1995 with Pastor Oluseye and the colored copy of the same Certificate given to Pastor Akinosun and show the court which part of the Certificate is forged as they alleged. Their responses? “No part is forged, my Lord”!

Third Issue: On the issue whether Pastor Akinosun has any right to even demand for the Certificate, the defence lawyer asked if he is a Trustee of the Church. He said yes, but could not produce any Certificate to back up his claim. The lawyer then asked if his name is on the 1995 Certificate. His answer? “No, my Lord.” But is Pastor Oluseye’s name on the Certificate? “Yes, my Lord.” Who then has the right to keep the Certificate, you a non-trustee or Pastor Oluseye, a trustee whose name is on the Certificate?

Fourth Issue: The defence lawyer then produced and showed Pastor Akinosun a judgment of the Federal High Court, Lagos State (FHC/L/CS/1532/2011) delivered on 13th December 2012, where Hon. Justice O.E. Abang ordered as follows: “The appointment of the 2nd Respondent (Pastor Abraham Olukunle Akinosun) as president of CAC worldwide by the 1st Respondent (Pastor Oluseye) on 8th December 2011 at the General Council meeting held at Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State, Nigeria is hereby set aside and vacated.” In view of this court judgment, can Pastor Akinosun legally claim to be or parade himself as, the president of Christ Apostolic Church?
