The Department of State Security Services DSS has finally wielded big stick on its former spokesperson Marilyn Oga as it relieved her of her job with effect from Wednesday.Ogar was not due for retirement yet, but the resolve to ease her out of service in DSS was said to have been predicated on the alleged ignoble roles traced to her some few months back.
Oga shortly after the presidential election which Brought President Muhammadu Buhari into power had been demoted, while she was first transferred to Maidugiri although the transfer was later differed.
She was fired on allegation of bribery and professional misconducts.
Emerging news reports on Oga are indicating that she was asked to proceed on retirement because she allegedly collected trucks of DPK (Dual Purpose Kerosene) as bribe amid her alleged partisan roles before and during the last Presidential election.
It was based on the allegations leveled against her an investigation panel was set up to probe her alleged professional misconduct while in active service.
According to reports, it was based on the Panel’s Report that she placed on compulsorily retirement, having been found guilty.
Mrs Ogar had stepped on toes with her conduct during the reign of former President Goodluck Jonathan amid allegation that she failed to restrain herself in playing partisan role in support of then ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
She often participate in radio programmes, and was heard severally castigating the opposition party while defending the activities of the Jonathan’s government.
The DSS was yet to make an official statement on the compulsory retirement of its former Spokesperson, although officials of the agencies confirmed the development anonymously
