Deputy President of the Senate, Chief Ike Ekweremadu has debunked speculations that he was being investigated by the police in connection with the forgery of Senate Standing Rules.
Ekweremadu made this clarification over the weekend while speaking at the fundraising dinner for the proposed New Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Enugu State.
He described the allegations against him in the Senate as non-existent issues which had nothing to do with his position and progress of PDP as regards struggle for political supremacy in the country.
The Deputy Senate President disclosed that the leadership of the PDP has always planned ways of ensuring that it restores its leading position, urging all stakeholders to make useful contributions to the realization of this goal.
His words, “I am sure you are seeing and hearing what they say in the media. Most of those things are certainly not true. No Police is investigating me because there is nothing to investigate.
“It is only APC and their media that are investigating me. What is happening in the Senate is purely the Senate’s affair and will remain as that”.
