The long-running battle between Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, and the 19 All Progressives Congress (APC) legislators in the state has again taken a turn for the worse as the lawmakers are said to have resumed their impeachment plot against the governor.
The APC lawmakers are said to have threatened to resume sitting following the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The situation is said to have arisen tensions afresh in the state as it is feared that the legislators will attempt to force their way into the House of Assembly complex and impeach Fayose.
According to Premium Times sources, the APC members intend to gain entrance into the complex on Monday, June 1, 2015, in order to further their plans.
As a result, some of Fayose’s supporters have reportedly blocked some major entry points to the state to prevent the lawmakers from gaining access.
The lawmakers and the governor have been involved in a bitter battle for supremacy and several attempts to reconcile the warring parties have failed.
